Brilliantly engineered and tougher than a bull redfish, the new Energy® PT1M-XMetal™ baitcast reel is built for the rigors of serious fishing. First of all, these reels have all the proven and unique features of the PT - Performance Tuned fishing gear- family:
Special gears, special bearings and special lubrication that doesn't wear or wash off. In fact, XMetal reels have a Polymer-stainless hybrid 8-bearing system. A fishing gear system that is custom matched to PT gears made by a proprietary manufacturing process that uses special alloys to increase gear hardness.
A process that means smooth-edged gears for smooth gear performance over the life of the reel.
X-Metal has all of these attributes, plus aluminum side covers that are married precisely with a machined single piece aluminum frame that holds all of the working components of the fishing reel in perfect alignment. And a housing that is sealed with a scratch-resistant vacuum deposition coating for a durable and long-lasting finish.
There's also the Quantum* ACS™ II Cast Control that utilizes a high performance centrifugal braking system. An external dial allows convenient brake management by turning the control to one of nine settings, or turning the brakes off completely for the ultimate in free spool performance. Whatever the brake setting, this reel allows the opportunity to adapt to any fishing condition.
Quantum's Zero-play Continuous Anti-Reverse provides a no-nonsense approach to eliminating slack line and flubbed hook sets. When the handle stops, the spool stops.
A ceramic drag system helps to dissipate heat and eliminate swelling of the drag washers to ensure drag settings don't "wander."
The XMetal's exclusive Maxcast Titanium bonded skeletal spool reduces weight and allows air circulation around the line, helping it to dry quicker and promoting line life longevity.
