Serious fly anglers know that line management is a key element to a successful fly fisherman. The large arbor Nighthawk Fly Reel from Fenwick reduces line memory to allow a flatter layout on the cast, quicker line mends and quicker retrieves. The full-featured reel does more than just hold fly line.

The frame is fully machined from a solid aluminum block. Three stainless steel ball bearings offer a smoother operation, including instant anti-reverse. A multi-disc drag system provides a wide range of drag power and smooth line stripping by the fish.

Three models of the Nighthawk fly reel are available. The 3-5 reel weighs 4.9 ounces, has a spool diameter of 2.9 inches and can hold 90 yards of 3, 4 or 5-weight fly line plus 44 yards of 20-pound nylon backing. The 5-6 reel weighs 5.9 ounces, has 3.69-inch diameter spool and can hold 90 yards of 5 or 6-weight fly line and 55 yards of backing. The larger 7-9 reel weighs 6.3 ounces, has a spool diameter of 3.69 inches and can hold 90 yards of 7, 8 or 9-weight fly line and 164 yards of backing. The spool width is 1.2 inches on each reel. All three models can be easily changed for left or right hand operation.
