Gore-Tex® Brand Wins Backpacker Magazine's 2004 Readers Choice Award

Think of the best five products ever developed for outdoor recreation. That was the task presented in the first Readers' Choice survey of over 2,000 readers of Backpacker magazine this past October. It was a challenging question, but right there on top of the list, above Polartec fleece and even the famed Global Positioning System (GPS), was GORE-TEX® fabric invented by W.L. Gore & Associates.

The complete list of Readers' Choice Award winners was released in the January/February 2005 issue of Backpacker. The survey was conducted on-line at Backpacker.com between September 1 and October 4.
