Daiwa’s line counter reels have been a standard for years on the Great Lakes, where they helped usher in a new era of accuracy in controlled depth fishing. Now the standard SG reels have been upgraded with two stainless steel ball bearings, a gold anodized, forged aluminum spool and a rugged new aluminum handle.

Built specifically for the walleye fisherman is a compact new SG17LCA model. Smaller in size, it also features the dual paddle handle preferred by most walleye anglers. “While the 27 sized reels are extremely versatile for most Great Lakes trolling, we have had numerous requests by walleye anglers for an even more compact model. And here it is, the SG17LCA”, commented Daiwa’s Bill Liston. “It’s a perfect size for the walleye trolling techniques used today.” MSRP for the SG reels runs from $84.95 to $94.95.

Also new is an economy-priced series of Accudepth line counter reels that also include the new 17 size. MSRP for the Accudepth reels runs from $59.95 to $74.95.
