Cabela's Black Label II bait casting reel/Tourney Trail 7' rod Rod and Reel Combos
Rod and Reel Combos Manufacturer: Cabela's Cabela's Model: Black Label II bait casting reel/Tourney Trail 7' rod Review Category: Rod and Reel Combos
Purchase: Rod and Reel Combos This unit was purchased as a combo with a Tourney Trail rod from Cabela's. I paid $90.00 for both.
Things I like about the Cabela's Black Label II bait casting reel/Tourney Trail 7' rod Rod and Reel Combos: The rod is ok and does have good action. The reel looks good with the rod.
What I don't like about the Cabela's Black Label II bait casting reel/Tourney Trail 7' rod: The rod doesn't have as many eyelets as most 7' baitcasting rods. The reel is a big disapointment, it is clunky and sloppy.
Rod and Reel Combos Black Label II bait casting reel/Tourney Trail 7' rod quality: The magnetic brake on the reel seems to powerful and will not let the spool spin. Even when setting the reel up, getting a 3/8 oz spinner to fall to the floor is a real test of patience. When you do get backlash you have to take the spool off because the line wraps around the outside of it. It says it has 6 ball bearings but I can only find 2, not that I am an expert or anything.
Black Label II bait casting reel/Tourney Trail 7' rod summary: Please do more research before buying this combo. I know $90.00 is not alot for a baitcasting combo but I have to believe there is a better deal out there.
