Mathews FX2 Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Mathews Mathews Model: FX2 Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I bought the mathews FX2 because of its economical price and positive reviews by users. I bought the bow with an adjustable drop away rest for four hundred dollars at a local archery shop
Things I like about the Mathews FX2 Bows: I liked the fact that this particular model has three draw length setting to allow for growth (perfect for a teenager). The bow is small, compact, and powerful. The construction is very durable and the cams are machined well.
What I don't like about the Mathews FX2: The let off for this bow is fairly dramatic. It can be surprising how a last minute jerk can affect the trajectory of the arrow. This bow was meant to be shot with sights and a mechanical release. Anything less, and you might have disappointing results (if you prefer instinctive shooting). Nonetheless, this bow is compact and potent.
Bows FX2 quality: The construction and quality is typical of what you would expect out of a mathews bow. The string is strong, but I would advise buying some bowstring wax to keep it in good condition. I would rate the construction of this bow at a similar quality to other mathews bows without all of the bells and whistles
FX2 summary: Good bow for teenagers. Good construction and versatile with an adjustable draw length. Sights and release are a must as the large drop off on the bow can cause a change in trajectory if you are doing instinctive shooting. It is field tested and has never given me a problem in a variety of weather conditions.
