spintite crimson croc 125gr Broadheads
Broadheads Manufacturer: spintite spintite Model: crimson croc 125gr Review Category: Broadheads
Purchase: Broadheads The first set I acquired were sent to me by spintite after several failed attempts to harvest a deer with a discontinued mechanical model they had. Since then I have purchased a set at gander mountain and most recently from an online sporting goods website. The cost is about $35 for a set of three.
Things I like about the spintite crimson croc 125gr Broadheads: There are several selling points for me with the crimson croc broadheads. the first and foremost is they are a cut on contact blade reducing and in most cases eliminating deflection. The second is the Teflon coating on the blades which reduces most of the friction created by other broadheads passing through game including bone hits. Third is the spiral wound channel caused by the twists at the end of the blade, their website claims it causes a wound channel that will not clot shut and they are absolutely correct on that. Fourth on my list, tho it will be higher on others I am sure, is the "field point accuracy" of these broadheads. I have bent a few tips going trough game and impacting the ground while hunting and since I am not a big fan of resharpening blades since I find they never fly the same again I have straightened these blades and used them as practice tips almost completely eliminating field points from my gear. (yes they make that big of a difference in arrow flight)
What I don't like about the spintite crimson croc 125gr: The only downside I can find with these blades is the fact that they are almost impossible to find now since most archery stores Carry the "latest and greatest" products tho Spintite has been very accommodating in helping me find retailers and offering to sell the tips and replacement blades directly if I am ever unable to find them.
My brother-in-law however has a big problem with these blades since I have begun ruining his arrows when we are target practicing together.
Broadheads crimson croc 125gr quality: The first set I received two years ago had thinner blades but they still stayed intact and usable after exiting the off shoulder of a deer, the newer set however has much thicker blades which I am itching to try on the next deer that walks by my stand. They still have some limitations that all broadheads will have but fewer than most I have tried.
crimson croc 125gr summary: The bottom line is they are a broadhead I will use and recommend to anyone including new hunters and youth hunters shooting lower poundage bows. since they are cut on contact and Teflon coated they will penetrate much better than mechanical and in my opinion fly better too. As for seasoned hunters that claim they have the best broadheads around, I say they should give these a try even on a target and see the difference in arrow flight and penetration.
