Purchase: Fish Finders After having this unit on my wish list for a few years I finially pulled the trigger on it after the price came down. it originally sold for $2400.00 but I purchased it from an online retailer www.crosslakesales.com for $899.99
Things I like about the Aqua VU MAV 10" LCD Fish Finders: I had used underwater viewing systems a lot for Ice fishing but found them to be more work than they were worth in the open water, until I came across the Aqua Vu MAV. The large 10" LCD screen made it easy to view in direct sunlight and the best feature was the fact that I could fish hands free while viewing thanks to the foot controlled deployment and retrieval system. I have a number of waypoints on my GPS that have produced fish for no know reason and only the camera was able to reveal the subtle transitions in bottom content. I have used it to find secondary spots on the heavily pressured lakes I fish and have significantly increased my success on the water
What I don't like about the Aqua VU MAV 10" LCD: originally it was the price that kept me from purchasing it. But for $899.97 it was a no brainer. alot of thought went into this system and there is nothing bad I can say about it.
Fish Finders MAV 10" LCD quality: The construction is quality very high. The quick disconnect makes it easy to remove and it stores easily in my boats dry storage. Very durable and easy to attach and remove.
MAV 10" LCD summary: Underwater cameras are as important to me as my Sonar and GPS. Eliminating unproductive water and quickly locating active fish is a breeze. Finding structure and identifying forage base with the use of a camera has greatly increased my fishing knowledge and success. After using many stationary cameras from MarCum and Aqua Vu I can confidently say that this is the best open water system on the market.
