Mathews FX2 Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Mathews Mathews Model: FX2 Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I live in Bend Oregon and my shop of choice is Del's Archery Den. I bought this bow from them in december of 2006 for $329.95. It has a 60# draw weight and a maximum draw length of 27". After some wheelin' and dealin' I also got a Tru-Glo sight, Tru-Glo quiver and a Tru-Fire "Patriot" release all for another $80. A good deal I think.
Things I like about the Mathews FX2 Bows: Before buying this bow, I had only shot friends bows but never actually owned one myself. I didn't want anything too fancy that I would have to empty my bank account to buy just something I could shoot and not worry too much about, so the FX2 was my choice. Compared to the others I have shot, this bow shoots flatter and most of all, Quieter than all the others. It may not be the fastest bow on the market but for it's size and the price paid, it holds its own pretty well.
What I don't like about the Mathews FX2: There really isn't anything i can find wrong with the bow other than the fact that its maximum draw is 27". I could have bought the bigger one, but at that time my arms weren't quite long enough even with the string shortened (I was 15) so I bought the smaller bow. Oh well.
Bows FX2 quality: The riser is made of high grade aluminum and seems to be very strong. The limbs, even after 3 years and around 6 thousand shots, remain structurally sound. Its a fantastic bow.
FX2 summary: The Mathews FX2 is a rock solid bow! It's accurate, fun to shoot, and fairly inexpensive. I would highly recommend buying this bow if you are interested in archery and are looking for a fairly inexpensive bow to get you started. Even when you become a more serious hunter, this bow has the knock down to harvest nearly any game you plan to hunt. The people at Mathews definately know what they are doing! I suggest checking out their website for a full product line.
