Purchase: Bows I bought this bow new from gables sporting goods in Douglasville. I went to Gables because they let you shoot all the bows before you buy them which IMO is the only way to purchase a bow. After shooting several Bowtech, Diamond, and PSE bows, The DXT overall outperformed all the rest.
Things I like about the Mathews DXT Bows: The axle to axle is something to marvel at. At roughly 30", it is great for treestand hunting and sopt and stalk hunting as well. With a final speed around 300fps, it gets the job done, quick!
By itslef it ways just under 4lbs so it is not that heavy or bulky. The cable roller guides are alot better than the rod. Hand shock is nothing with the dampeners they put on it. Very solid wall feel at the back which is great. The camo pattern is nice.
What I don't like about the Mathews DXT: NOISE!!!!!. This bow is noisy. I will say it again just so everybody knows, this bow is NOISY! It is alot louder than some of the other bows I tried. However, with the addition of a few string silencers and limbsavers, it is within tolerable range. The cam is really stiff and short but the wall hits directly after so it is ok. The draw is smooth until you hit the cam so it feels great until that last inch.
Bows DXT quality: Anybody who knows anything about bows, knows that Mathews makes a quality bow. Nothing on this bow was bad.
DXT summary: You could find several bows that perform better or worse in a couple of categories, but overall, I was most impressed with. I would recommend this bow to anyone. You can find several issues with this bow, but every bow has it's issues. You just have to pick and choose the ones that mean the kleast to YOU and go with the bow accordingly.
