Purchase: Tree Stands Purchased factory direct online after I tried my friends saddle. Paid ~$200.00.
Things I like about the Tropy Line-Tree Saddle Tree Saddle Tree Stands: I love the versatility, you can get into almost any tree imaginable regardless of branches or lean and you can go as high as you want. I love how quiet it is. I like the way it fits, you can wear it into the woods very quietly unlike a climber.
What I don't like about the Tropy Line-Tree Saddle Tree Saddle: You are restricted by tree size...as with other stands too, I've found that you want a tree less than 2 feet in diameter or so at the height where you will be hooking in or its not as comfey and the strap that holds you in isn't long enough. You need to put electrical tape or something around the buckles to keep the noise down. I find myself moving more in the saddle vs. a traditional tree stand because I don't think its quite as comfortable as a traditional stand, but it isn't bad. Lastly, the strap that hooks you in can be in the way at times.

Tree Saddle summary: Overall, I have a lot listed in the "misses" category, but I think the "hits" definately outweigh the misses. I've harvested alot of deer in mine and also used for a safety harness to trim tree limbs around my house. Here's what you get 1. Versatility-types/shapes of trees-can put out lots of treesteps pre-season (less work than hanging treestands), 2. Safety-once your strapped in, you flat out don't worry about falling out, you can focus directly on your prey and making your shot. 3. You can move around the tree to keep the tree btwn you and the deer 4. (As long as you put electrical tape around the heavy duty buckles) This thing is silent.
5. Acts as another layer of warmth and helps to cut the wind on cold days. 6. With the right tree and right set up, can be very comfortable. My last bit of advice: If you decide to get one, also invest in a headlamp...it will make hooking yourself into the tree during the dark 200% easier.
