Purchase: Bass Fishing Reels I purchaced this reel from Bass Pro in Springfield, MO. back around 1985. I believe it was priced around $40.00 then.
I already owned other Garcia fishing equiptment which I found to be the best I had used from any brand or style of reel.
Being a common person that likes to go fishing, not one that trys to make a living from fishing, I still feel that I deserves to be able to use the best equiptment possible so that I can do my best.
Things I like about the Abu Garcia Model 4600 CB 4600 CB Bass Fishing Reels: It like the other reels I had already owned was very user friendly. The best part being the thumbbar, I feel in love with this reel.
It casted like a dream with the 14# line which I liked to use with all weights of lures.
I haven't found any other reel that gives me the feel or control I get with my 4600CB. If I change weights of lures or the wind picks up it only takes a slight adjustment and I can keep casting without the thought ever entering my mind about the dreaded backlash.
I have these other models: 5500, 5500C, Ambassadeur Lite Plus, 6000, and one that I gave away that gave me al kinds of problems. I don't even remember what the model number was, but it had a quick change spool system that for some reason quick changed itself while in use as long as I was the person casting, therefore I would loose the outer part in the lake. My 4600CB is my favorite reel of all.
What I don't like about the Abu Garcia Model 4600 CB 4600 CB: The only thing I dislike about the 4600CB is the same problem I have with any Abu Garcia reel or rod and that is if I need any replacement parts or service I don't have a place that is handy to get the parts or service I might need.
Bass Fishing Reels 4600 CB quality: It is tops! The only problem I have had is due to my own bumbling and not getting the reel back together proper when I cleaned it. I misplaced or just lost my balance weights and I don't know where I can get them local, parts are hard to find, at least for me.
4600 CB summary: I have owned Abu Garcia equiptment for years and all I can say is that when I started I had a place where I could get service very easy, since I lived close to Metropolitian Rod and Reel which was located in the Raytown area near Kansas City. I got the best advice and service from him and Garcia backed their equiptment 100 per-cent for me, they are the best.
