Purchase: Tree Stands I purchased this stand from a local person after having wanted one for many years. I paid 265.00 for the used stand.
Things I like about the Tree Lounge Gun Hunter Special Tree Stands: To be quite honest, I didn't like anything about the stand. I had heard and read that this was the most comfortable stand available but found that to be far from the truth.
What I don't like about the Tree Lounge Gun Hunter Special: The unit is quite bulky and heavy. It was difficult to set up at the proper angle to get started. The archery platform was not very rigid and the entire stand shook when standing on the platform. It gave me a very uneasy feeling to be bouncing up and down 25 feet in the air. My back ached after only a few hours in the stand and made me long for my API climber.
Tree Stands Gun Hunter Special quality: The construction was the new D shaped tubing. The paint chipped very easily. Although this stand is dubbed the Cadillac of tree stands, I found it to be more of a Yugo.
Gun Hunter Special summary: Maybe my expectations were far too high for this stand. I'm sure there are those who love it. I am not one of them. If your looking for a stand you can sit in all day and be comfortable, this isn't it. Keep looking, I think I've narrowed it down.
