Things I like about the Midland walkie Talkie 950 Hunting Gear Misc.: They are rechargeable in a base provided with purchase. So far the range has been excellent during hunting in the woods. The setup took a little bit of time but it really lets you customize things to a fine detail so it would work well if you have a group hunting together.
What I don't like about the Midland walkie Talkie 950: Perhaps the clip to hold it on your belt could be better. Also having the call signal and the lock keyboard on the same button can cause problems but that is more my lack of experience with the unit. Some of the negatives like beeping etc can be turned off.
The one thing that is not good about the unit is the headsets. The earpiece is awful and it is very difficult to make out what is said by the other person.
Hunting Gear Misc. 950 quality: It seems well built for the price. It was not expensive yet it feels very solid although I have not dropped it from a height or carried it where it could take some abuse. IT also worked just fine in very cold weather.
950 summary: It is one equipment addition that I made for hunting that I will be part of the essential gear I carry. I will look for a better headset because when it worked right it made talking much easier and much quieter. Without the hands free it worked flawlessly. They already saved me one long solo drag so in my mind they paid for themselves already.
