Purchase: Rod and Reel Combos Bought one from a Harris Scarfe retail store for AU$79.00. Bought the combo for my 10 year old son. It was slightly more than the no-name brands but I have had an excellent run with Ugly Stiks so I didn't hesitate.
Things I like about the Shakespeare SPL110256 Rod and Reel Combos: It's small, light & easy to use with the Ugly Stik quality
What I don't like about the Shakespeare SPL110256: The top line-eye insert fell out within a short time.
Rod and Reel Combos SPL110256 quality: Construction is slightly lower in quality than the more expensive Ugly STik products but the basics are there. The twist-lock reel attachment seems a little poor but time will tell.
SPL110256 summary: Looks like a great budget combo & I hope my son will get many years (& pounds) of enjoyment out of it as I have with Ugly Stiks
