Remington Ghost Trail Cameras (m-s)
Trail Cameras (m-s) Manufacturer: Remington Remington Model: Ghost Review Category: Trail Cameras (m-s)
Purchase: Trail Cameras (m-s) I purchased this unit at Dicks Sporting Goods. I have been using a trail camera for several years, recently updating to a SIM card reader instead of using the old film type. I purchased the unit because it had a SIM card and had a 5.0 megapixel picture, and a secure mounting cable. I also liked the price of just $119.99.
Things I like about the Remington Ghost Trail Cameras (m-s): Easy to follow set-up directions, mounting cable w/lock, and easy to read display screen.
What I don't like about the Remington Ghost: I do not like the way you have to mount the unit to the mounting bracket, you always will need a phillips screwdriver handy. Once you mount the cable if you need to make any adjustment concerning the diameter of the tree you have remove the unit then reinstall. The pictures are really blurry, over 50% of the photos taken at night are completely black as if the flash didnt work. Frustrating to have over 100 pictures: spend time, effort and gas to set it out and black pictures. I am very disappointed in the unit and wish I could return it for a different unit.
Trail Cameras (m-s) Ghost quality: I like the construction of the unit has a durable frame to protect the unit. I also like that once the unit is closed a lock was provided to secure the camera, and that it would make it harder to steal. The cable mount was a great idea but could use some improving. I like that you can preset a location on the screen. The directions on setting up the unit was exceptional and very easy step-by-step.
Ghost summary: This is the 3rd trail camera I have purchased (1st Bushnell) thought I was getting an upgade instead I down graded. Very poor unit I am going to give it a 2 rating out of a possible 5. Descision based on the poor quality of picture and set up time. I gave a 2 solely because of the construction, mounting cable and security lock.
