Purchase: Great all around fishing rods. Purchased at Wal-Mart maybe two years ago. You can say what you want about Wal-Mart they offer some great fishing tackle,rods and reels are very good prices.
Things I like about the Shakespeare Ugly Stik: Great all purpose rods that are hard to hurt. Just enough bend in them to help land them.
What I don't like about the Shakespeare Ugly Stik: I would like just a little more feel for working lures or baits. Not that Ugly Stiks don't provide enough feel, just that I would like more. If they were to offer a second rod tip that was slightly thinner I think I'd buy one in a heart beat.
Ugly Stik quality: I have a feeling these fishing rods are just about indestructible. If we're going out to a farm pond or lake requiring some walking through trails and brush this is the rod that goes with me.
Ugly Stik summary: Like I said earlier in this review the Shakespeare Ugly Stik is a great all around fishing rod that works in most any fishing situation.
