Purchase: Tree Stands I was looking for a treestand because I had owned my current stand for approx. 8 yrs. It was a great stand and I have never seen another like it. But over time, It was getting noisey and it became increasing more difficult to use. I knew it was time for another. I started looking around for a new one that I liked as well as this one. I began my search on the internet and came upon this site. I started reading all the reviews of stands and if I didn't recognize the brand, I started checking it out. I came upon this stand called the Equalizer. What a concept. But I did read one review that was less than favorable and one good one. But I checked it out. I have yet to find another stand like this.
Things I like about the Equalizer Equalizer Tree Stands: This unit does exactly what they say it does. It is as quiet as you can get in carry, mounting and climbing. It is rock solid. I have seen many stands and checked out as many as I can. This stand makes the most sense and what I was looking for. I alway had a problem trying to guess the taper of the tree. This takes the guesswork out of that. I simply climb, make adjustments and keep climbing. I'll bet it is the fastest to getting up the tree as any stand. It easy climbing and rock solid when locked in. I like the adjustable seat that you can adjust even when your up there. Unlike my old stand, I had to decide at home how I wanted to sit and hope the deer complied. I got the one with the back rest. And it's only 20lbs w/o backrest.(I have a bad back and needed a backrest or I could put my back against the tree or get the optional Sling seat)
What I don't like about the Equalizer Equalizer : Well, there is not really anything I don't like. If I had to pick something, and it' not really a dislike, it's the price. It isn't cheap, but it's well worth the $350 which includes the backrest and shipping. We all would like free, but lets talk about the real world. And every worker is worth his wage. I believe this is well worth a few dollars more than any other stand.
Tree Stands Equalizer quality: Construction is Grade A. This stand is well built and well thought out. Even the DVD they will send to you for free is of top quality. The videography and narration is quality stuff. Their web site is one of the best I've seen ever for treestands or any other product for that matter. They have done their homework. This stand does what they show, exactly how they show it. It is quiet, easy to use.
Equalizer summary: I don't think I need to add anything. I believe I've said it all. Buy one for yourself and you'll see. They have a 30 day return policy. But I'll bet they don't get any. BTW the person that reviewed this stand here on this forum (3 stars I think) that sent it back was wrong. It does not have plastic gears. These are nylon, which are very stong, not cheap and very reliable. I hope my grammer and spelling do justice. I think it's great!!!
