Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc Okay, I was in a buying frenzy the night before we left to go hunting. I'm sure you know the feeling. Unfortunately I never got around to buying a new pair of boots. My old ones had done me well, but the waterproofing had been shot for about a year. I actually picked up the Hunt Dri at Wal-Mart and have no idea what it cost as I didn't really care at the time. I would have bought a new pair of boots, but had already spent a ton on hunting this year and was a little late to find the ones I wanted anyway.
Things I like about the Outback Technologies Hunt Dri WaterProofing Hunting Gear Misc: It worked quite well. When I arrived to do some last minute scouting there was already a fresh foot of snow on the ground. I walked around in it for a few hours and it didn't seem to penetrate the leather at all. Same for the first and second day of the season and believe me with as cold as it was I would have known.
What I don't like about the Outback Technologies Hunt Dri WaterProofing: It took longer than 4-6 hours to dry. That might be because I sprayed a lot on, but it did say would dry within 4-6 hours. Overnight it still had a little drying to do. This stuff is supposed to be odorless after it dries so it's important to do it ahead of time.
Hunting Gear Misc Hunt Dri WaterProofing quality: Worked very well, I actually bought two cans and did two pairs of boots, my overalls, my gloves and hat along with a quick spray on my brush pants I wear as wind protectors. After all this there was still some left in the can. By the way it worked excellent on a pair of mitten-gloves I use for standing. Cabela's makes the gloves and they seem to go out of their way to collect moisture with this stuff on they did very well, not completly dry, but certainly much better than usual.
Hunt Dri WaterProofing summary: Outback Technologies Scent Dry is the real thing, I'm very happy with it, and it may just save me from buying a lot of new hunting items when they still have life left in them. Next up is fishing season.
