Garmin E Trex GPS
GPS Manufacturer: Garmin Garmin Model: E Trex Review Category: GPS
Purchase: Laugh if you want, but with all the excitement and tension of the first day of buck I often have a struggle finding my stand. Last year I had plenty of time to get in there an hour before dark, but ended up getting into it just minutes before first light. It had snowed overnight and my trail markers were no where to be seen. This will end all of that. Basically I've marked my stand with the GPS and it will give me direction right to it within ten feet. Alarge arrow points me in the direction. I paid about $150 for this model.
Things I like about the Garmin E Trex: I haven't had it out hunting officially yet, but it should do away with my problem of getting lost. What can I say, but I don't have a real good sense of direction. The screen is very easy to use and the buttons, or controls are on the side and not on the front panel like a couple of models I've seen. It also has a best time for hunting and fishing screen that tells you predicted times when the deer are moving, or the fish will be on the move.
What I don't like about the Garmin E Trex: Nothing yet. I will say they should throw the optional computer cable in with it, I had to buy it separately to hook up to my computer at home to download maps.
E Trex quality: Well made, they know these will be outdoors especially the hunting models.
E Trex summary: I'm very pleased with it. Like I said earlier it hasn't been out officially and maybe then I'll find something wrong. For the moment I'm very happy with it. Hoping to win the one in your contest.
