Purchase: Rifle Scopes I purchased a new hunting rifle and wanted a decent quality scope to put on it without spending over $100. Walmart has a pretty good selection of inexpensive riflescopes so I looked there first. I put several posts on different hunting forums to ask about the quality of the Simmons scopes. I got mixed opinions from the forums, so I decided to purchase it and see for myself. I paid 49.99 for the scope.
Things I like about the Simmons Model Number 899654 3X9X40 8-Point Riflescope Rifle Scopes: After mounting the Simmons 8-Point on my rifle I noticed it looked very nice with its matte black finish. I went to the range to sight in the rifle. I really like the adjustable knobs for windage and elevavation adjustments without having to use a screwdriver or coin to make the adjustments. The optics of the scope were very good considering the inexpensive price tag.
What I don't like about the Simmons Model Number 899654 3X9X40 8-Point Riflescope: In reality I didnt find anything about this riflescope that I didnt like. Im using this unit on a .243 Winchester so Im really not sure how it would hold up to "Magnum" recoil. The optics are not near as good as a premium quality scope but much better than expected for its meager price.
