Purchase: I bought these pliers through a mail order company that I often use, for the purpose of having a quality, lifelong pair of fishing pliers. At $160.00 including the leather sheath, I thought I was getting what Abel advertised; "precision" made, quality plires that would last a lifetime. Well, their idea of quality is considerably different than mine. These pliers are not worth $16.00, much less $160.00.
Things I like about the Abel # 2 pliers: What I liked about the pliers is limited to their color.
What I don't like about the Abel # 2 pliers: Some of what I didn't like about the tool is the fact that the jaws are not aligned, there are machine marking in the side of the pliers that should have been buffed out. Remember, these are not cheap pliers. They are promoted as "the best".
No...the current management over at "Abel" is ether lost, they have no idea, or they simply just don't care. Maybe they really believe they can promote junk and no one will know the difference. I know I will know the diference, I know what the name Abel used to mean. Sad, so sad!
# 2 pliers quality: Poor quality, no appreant quality control measures, apppear to be a hurried to produce product.
# 2 pliers summary: Very disappointed with Abel and the overall quality and craftsmenship of these pliers. Will be very careful and examine closely, any Abel product before I buy.
