Fishing Gear - Fenwick® Techna AV® Fishing Rods Premium Rods Revamped, Now 10% Lighter

Fishing Gear - Press Release

Fishing Gear - Fenwick, an icon for the highest quality fishing rods for nearly 50 years and makers of the first graphite rods, continues to develop rods to revolutionize fishing. The popular Techna AV series of spinning and casting rods are improved and now are 10 percent lighter with more actions from which to choose.

The 23 Techna AV rods are built much stronger starting with ultra-thin IMS graphite rod blanks that have been wrapped with an Aramid Veil™ shield. This advanced blank is the backbone of a rod and is now lighter than before. The reduced mass of the rod means more sensitivity through the blank and to the angler's fingertips.

The Titanium SS304 Guide System are up to 55% lighter than comparable conventional ceramic guides, yet are 20 times tougher. Concept guide spacing adds to the Techna AV's sensitivity and strength. The new precision lock down reel seat keeps reels securely in place.

Of the 23 new Techna AV rods, ten are spinning, five are TriggerStik®, one telescopic Flippin'Stik™, four Muskie rods and three salmon/steelhead models. The spinning rods range from 5'6" to 7' in light, medium light, medium and medium heavy actions. TriggerStiks and Flippin'Stiks measure 6' to 7'6" in medium, medium heavy and heavy actions. Medium heavy and heavy Muskie rods vary in length from 6'3" to 7'6". The two-piece salmon/steelhead rods include a medium action 8'6" spinning rod and two 8'6" casting rods in medium and medium heavy actions.

The suggested retail prices of the Techna AV series ranges from $159.95 to $179.95.
