The ATV Stealth Exhaust System by Kolpin

HFG Gift Guide

The ATV Stealth Exhaust System fits on any ATV with a four-stroke engine to quiet ATV noise by 50% or more. It can be easily installed according to user preference and rear-of-machine configuration.Engineered with an innovative high-flow, low-restriction spark-arresting muffler, the Stealth Exhaust System quiets ATV noise by 50% without sacrificing engine performance. The patented design is used on military ATVs by both U.S. and British Special Forces, is also a USDA Forest Service Approved Spark Arrester.

The ATV Stealth Exhaust System includes an efficient, aluminized steel muffler measuring 22 inches in length and 4½ inches in diameter. Fully welded, the muffler is proven to work well on all sizes of ATVs from 250s to 700s. The system comes complete with a universal kit including mounting hardware and detailed instructions for quick, easy installation; a universal adaptor elbow for high mount installations; a zinc-plated two piece wrap-around clamp hanger assembly; and galvanized flex tubing that turns the exhaust and noise closer to the ground.

The ATV Stealth Exhaust System reduces noise levels for decreased disturbance of other public land user groups, and provides added protection to the environment through the use of a second spark arrester. Its revolutionary design results in less disruption of wildlife for the benefit of outdoor enthusiasts, as well as livestock for farmers and ranchers that use ATVs. In addition to significant noise reduction, the ATV Stealth Exhaust System actually delivers an increase in mid-range power and overall performance on some models, according to extensive dynamometer tests.

How Does it Work?

THE MUFFLER. We start with an extremely efficient, super quiet, high flow, USDA Approved, spark arresting muffler that is manufactured from high quality, aluminized steel to our specifications, exclusively for our patented ATV Sealth Exhaust System. The muffler is 22 inches long, including the outlet, and 4½ inches in diameter. It is not just a straight through silencer and it has no packing material that requires maintenance. It is a fully welded, USDA Approved, spark arresting muffler designed with a series of tubes and chambers. It has been tested and proven to work well on all sizes of ATVs from 250s to 700s.

UNIVERSAL KIT. All hardware for installation in any configuration on any four-stroke ATV is included in one convenient kit. The recently improved hardware is aluminized, zinc-plated, or galvanized steel for long life.

INSTALLATION. The exhaust outlet on the ATV's original equipment muffler must be adapted so it has the proper size male tubing outlet on it. This is accomplished by installing bushings on the original outlet, by welding on the weld on adapter, or by installing the optional bolt-on adapter.

NEW UNIVERSAL ADAPTER ELBOW. For high mount installations, to connect your ATV’s exhaust outlet to the inlet on the stealth muffler, we now provide a mandrel bent formed steel elbow that can be cut off to any length on each end to fit any application. The 1½” flexpipe can also be used for this connection.

HANGER ASSEMBLY. The new, zinc-plated, universal, two-piece wrap-around clamp type assembly makes it easier to install the system onto any ATV.

THE OUTLET. For maximum noise reduction, install the included length of galvanized flex tubing to the outlet of the Stealth muffler, which turns the exhaust and the noise closer to the ground and is quieter yet. A short pipe turn-down outlet is now an available option.

A simple installation can usually be performed in 30 minutes. Kit design and instruction improvements have made it even easier to install. The result - your ATV is 50% or more quieter and just as powerful and efficient, plus you have the added safety of a second spark arrestor.

Installation

A simple installation can usually be performed within 30 minutes. Comprehensive, detailed instructions with pictures are provided with every kit, which will make it easy to install on any make or model. There are numerous, excellent ways to install the Stealth System using the Universal Kit. Your installation should be a matter of personal preference, taking into consideration riding style, rear-of-machine configuration, not blocking the tail light, etc. Generally, higher and close to the back of the ATV is better to prevent damage to system while riding through dips, over logs, etc. The following are some examples of good installations.

HONDA RUBICON 500 with heavy-duty after market extended rear rack installed. Muffler unit is mounted to bottom of rack, resulting in a high mount, protected installation. Honda Rubicon 500 high mount to rear of original equipment rack. Also a good installation. High and close to rear of machine.

YAMAHA GRIZZLY 660. Direct mount to original equipment muffler outlet. Excellent, yet simple, installation. High and close to rear of ATV without blocking tail light.

POLARIS SPORTSMAN 500. Excellent installation. Bolts on with existing bolts in rear of frame using hangers supplied with kit. Good looking installation, close to rear of ATV and mounted high without blocking tail light.

ANY FOUR-STROKE ATV. While these are good examples of typical installations, the universal ATV Stealth Exhaust System Kit we currently offer has all of the components needed to install it and to suit your taste and riding style on any ATV with a four-stroke engine, in these configurations or your own idea. For ATVs with an existing male outlet, such as Polaris and Yamaha, the Universal Muffler and Hardware Kit is supplied with split type bushings to adapt the outlet to the Stealth muffler with no welding required.

For ATVs with no existing male oulet, such as a Honda, weld-on adapters are included. This simple welding operation provides the required male outlet to adapt to the system. If you don't have welding equipment or experience, any welding shop can install the adapter for a minimal fee. Optional bolt-on adapters are also available as an extra. No matter what you ride... Arctic Cat, Bombardier, Honda, Polaris, Suzuki, Yamaha, or any other four-stroke ATV, the Stealth System will work great on your machine. It also works on Polaris Ranger and the John Deere Gator.

NEW! SPECIAL MANDREL BENT UNIVERSAL FIT ELBOW is now supplied in the kit for connecting the ATV's muffler to the Stealth muffler. Or you can use the supplied flex pipe for this connection. For the Stealth muffler turn-down outlet, flexpipe is used so that if you bump it on something, it does little or no damage and it can usually just be pushed back in place. This flexpipe outlet, turned toward the ground, also helps to make the system quieter. A short ehaust pipe turndown is also available for the outlet.
