About Robinson Industries the makers of Scent Blocker.

The Most Technologically Advanced Scent Adsorbing Fabric Ever Introduced by Robinson Outdoors!

ScentBlocker Plus is the newest, most effective scent adsorbing fabric ever introduced by Robinson Outdoors for the hunting public. Producing this unique, lightweight activated carbon fabric is a science. The ´cutting edgeˆ technology used to create our fabric is so incredibly effective that human odor can literally be a worry of the past.

ScentBlocker Plus utilizes activated carbons that, through a special proprietary process, have been ´fine-tunedˆ to adsorb organics (fatty acids, amines, butyric and valeric acid). All of these organics make up HUMAN ODOR! Our exclusive fabric, ScentBlocker Plus, is the result of years of costly product research and development. Our special carbon layer is combined with a new, non-woven fabric that is lighter, thinner and more air and moisture permeable than existing materials.

This revolutionary, lightweight fabric is EXCLUSIVE to Robinson Outdoors.

Things you NEED to know about Carbon and Scent Elimination Garments:

ScentBlocker Plus utilizes the very best coal-based activated carbon in the world. Our specific carbon was selected due to it having a wider amount of pore sizes than other varieties of carbon. Why does pore size matter õ The human odor molecule is large õ the microscopic-sized pores present in the carbon must provide greater surface area so that the large odor molecule can be adsorbed.

Adsorbing VS. Absorbing: Adsorption is different than absorption. Absorption is like a sponge. The substance is absorbed, usually liquid and is contained within the sponge. Adsorption requires surface area that acts as a place for organic and inorganic substances to be adsorbed by simply attaching at contact. A good example is the smoke residue or film that collects on the inside of windshields. The smoke vapor is adsorbed by the surface of the vehicle windshields. In the case of carbon, unlike the windshield, the surface area is huge compared to its actual size.

The ScentBlocker Plus 600 fabric in your ScentBlocker Plus Garment provides approximately 359,680 square yards of šcarbon loadingÌ (1.27 oz. of carbon per yard and approximately 6 yards of fabric per suit)

ScentBlocker Plus utilizes powdered carbon. We use powdered carbon instead of granular carbon because the overall surface area available that can adsorb odor is increased substantially in size and efficiency. Granular carbon also has a propensity to dislodge due to abrasion leaving a relatively large hole in the carbon media. Powdered carbon does not.

Permeability of the garment õ the carbon fabric and the total garment construction method must accommodate a high level of breathability. Human odor is a gas that is carried through the air. This odor can only be adsorbed if it can reach and contact the carbons. ScentBlocker Plus is a highly permeable (breathable) fabric.

Washability õ A common misconception is that carbon clothing cannot be washed. The truth is that all hunting garments must be washed to eliminate odor contamination on the outer fabric. ScentBlocker Plus is washable. Washing is required before initial use of the garment and recommended only as needed for the life of the garment. WASH IN COLD WATER ONLY on the DELICATE CYCLE or HAND WASH utilizing only an approved detergent like Scent Shieldˆs ´Carbon Clothes Washˆ. Regular detergent may leave a residue that can clog the tiny pores of the carbon rendering it useless for adsorption.

Reactivate your carbon garments in a dryer for 30-45 minutes. Follow care instructions on the label.
