Ruff Wear's 3D Bark'n Boots™ Provide Paw Protection

Hunting Dogs

The Pacific Crest trailhead sign loomed in the distance as we drove up the scenic, tree-lined dirt road. The scent of pine filled the air as Chief, my yellow Labrador and I were heading out for a long day of hunting. I followed his lead to the rocky trail after grabbing my fanny pack stashed full of energy bars, and rain gear. Chief, donning his Ruff Wear 3D Bark’n Boots™, hunted briskly and confidently at my side all day long. Hours later, as the sun began to fade, he was still hunting strong, his paws protected by boots.

Dog hunting boots, you ask? Yes, definitely! Whether hunting, hiking, running, or mountain biking, dogs need hunting gear just as their guardians do. Humans would not think of tackling a long hunt without the proper footwear or gear. After all, appropriate hunting gear can make the difference between a perfectly enjoyable experience and a negative one. Now, with the advent of gear for active dogs, humans are including their canines on daily ventures.

Ruff Wear, leading producer of high performance dog gear, produces 3D Bark’n Boots™ that protect paw pads from obtrusive objects like sharp rocks, glass, hot pavement and debris. Generally, dog’s paws become conditioned to traversing on tough terrain but at the beginning of each hunting season, their paws require added protection. 3D Bark’n Boots™ are also perfect for dogs to wear on a fishing boat. The sole of the boot is made of a recycled rubber, which provides an incredible “grippy” surface. Your canine will stay in place safely even on slippery, wet surfaces.

The boot is built to mimic the shape of a dog’s ankle and paw; the flexible 3D upper is made of highly durable nylon Cordura®. A strap at the top of the boot ensures a comfortable, secure fit.

There are six different sizes available—for every breed and shape of hunting dog. Boot sizing instructions are located on Ruff Wear’s website – www.ruffwear.com. Follow the easy step-by-step process in order to get the best possible fit. Don’t fret if your hunting dog prances awkwardly at first. There will be a short adjustment period as your canine eases into their new footwear. Start off slowly and allow your furry friend a break-in period. Soon, they’ll beg to leap, run, fetch and climb peaks in their new 3D Bark’n Boots™.

Ruff Wear’s mission is to enhance the interactive bond between canines and their human guardians. Ruff Wear encourages an active lifestyle for everyone with a four-legged friend – stay fit, healthy and happy – whether it’s 15 minutes of playtime, a long walk, or day of hunting. Our gear For Dogs On the Go® combines performance, quality, fit, function and safety to meet the needs of active and adventurous canines and their companions. Based in Bend, Oregon, Ruff Wear sells their line through specialty pet and outdoor retailers as well as through www.ruffwear.com.
